Bayan Palace, located in the area of Bayan in the Hawalli Governate, is one of the most prominent architectural achievements in Kuwait. Inaugurated in 1986 on the occasion of the Fifth Islamic Countries Conference, it sits on an area of 1,399,500 square meters and is considered as the main building for international conferences that are hosted in Kuwait.
Distinguished by its special architectural design where contemporary design and old Islamic design are integrated, The Islamic patterns that decorate the interior design of the buildings are mixed with beautiful touches from Andalusian art, This can be seen in the great fountains that decorate the main entrances of the palace.
Bayan Palace consists of the Conference Hall and the Amiri Tent, which was established by order from the late Sheikh Jaber Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, after the liberation of Kuwait in 1991, in addition to six compounds. Each of these compounds consists of three buildings, with a total of 18 buildings, in addition to the Main Security Building.
In addition, a service station is located in the palace, which distributes all services to the buildings through the service tunnel that extends 2.6 kilometres. The Conference Hall consists of three meeting halls and a theatre, which can be used as a Conference Hall, with a capacity of 1,000 people. This space if fitted with hydraulic lifts that can change the layout of the Hall, as well as control the theater stage. The Conference Hall also has a special lighting system. The building consists of a Celebration Hall, Reception Area, Press Hall and Library. It also houses the office of His Highness the Prince of Kuwait and few administrative offices.
The Amiri Tent, which is also part of Bayan Palace, was inaugurated in 1991 with an area of 38,000 square meters.
Liberation Hall is one of the buildings also established in Bayan Palace, it is used for holding celebrations and international conferences.
Regarding construction and expansion processes in Bayan Palace, the Hospitality Palace was built to welcome delegations and the AlSabah Family Diwan. The Garden at Bayan Palace was open as an aesthetic facility for guests and visitors. Thus, Bayan Palace is one of the most prominent architectural achievements in Kuwait.
