His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah issued an Amiri decree on 8 October 2020
nominating Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to be the
Crown Prince, and the National Assembly pledged allegiance to His
Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to be the
Crown Prince.
Birth and Upbringing :
- His Highness was born in 1940.

He is the son of the late Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Amir
of Kuwait and the brother of three rulers of Kuwait (the late
Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Sheikh
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the present Amir Sheikh
Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah).
Education :
- His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah received his education at the Al-Mubarakiya School, which was
considered to be one of the first schools in Kuwait.

He later enrolled in Hendon Police College in the United Kingdom,in 1960.
Social Status :
- Married, father to five boys and seven girls.
Positions :

After graduation from Hendon he joined the Ministry of Interior, where he
held many positions in different departments and
administrations, until he became the head of the General Department
of Criminal Investigations with the rank of Colonel in 1967, which he
held until 1980. During his era the administration became the General
Department of State Security.

On the 17th of April 2004, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah was appointed as Deputy Chief of the Kuwaiti
National Guard with the rank of Minister by the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Honorary Positions :
- The Honorary President of the Kuwait Aircraft Engineer Pilots Association in 1973.

Appointed by the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah the
Head of the Diwan of Poets in 1977.

The Honorary President and one of the founders of KARS (Kuwait
Amateur Radio Society).
Accomplishments :

His Highness effort was clear in developing the State Security Department.

During his time as Deputy Chief, the National Guard witnessed great development and distinction in its role defending the country and protecting its security and stability. The National Guard during this time also offered support to the Ministries of Defense and Interior, as well as the Kuwait Fire Force.

Winning the "Jaber for Quality" prize and the ISO certificate (International Organization for Standardization) by the Diwan of His Excellency the Deputy Chief of the Kuwaiti National Guard.

During the era of His Highness, the National Guard was able to carry three strategic role through five-year strategic plans: (2010-2015) “Security is the basis of development,” (2015-2020) “Security First” and (2020-2025) “Protection and support".

During the era of His Highness the National Guard equipped qualified and trained technical employees with experience to deal with exceptional circumstances using developed technology. The National Guard concluded several cooperation protocols with different institutions in the country to provide help when needed.

During the era of His Highness the National Guard played an effective role during the rain crisis in 2018, they also supported the Kuwaiti Fire Force in facing some disasters and participated in facing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

At a regional and international level, the National Guard engaged in several cooperation agreements during the era of His Highness with different countries, in order to present the State of Kuwait in the International Federation of Police and Gendarmerie Force (FIEP).

On the 4th of December 2018 his highness was awarded the “Legion of
Honor” by the President of the French Republic while His Highness
was the Deputy Chief of the National Guard.
