His Highness the Crown Prince Attends the French Super Cup Final at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium

The attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince at the French Super Cup final reflects the political leadership's support for sport. Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said that the attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah - may God protect them - at the final demonstrated the political leadership's support for sport and athletes in Kuwait. In a press statement following Thursday evening's match at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, in which Paris Saint-Germain won the title, Minister Al-Mutairi said: "Their Highnesses' presence at this major sporting celebration, which brought joy to the spectators and members of the organizing committees, reinforces Kuwait's position as a host of major sporting events." He praised Their Highnesses' support, which contributed to the success of Kuwait's hosting of the event. He also expressed his pride in the tournament's outstanding organization, describing it as the result of the tireless work of young Kuwaitis serving on the organizing committees and as volunteers, together with the notable cooperation of the relevant state bodies and the national companies sponsoring the event. The Minister commended the large attendance, which contributed to the event's success and impressive presentation. He said the turnout demonstrated the strong interest of Kuwaiti audiences in international football and encouraged the Higher Committee for the Organization of Sports Championships and Events to bring more major international tournaments to Kuwait. Minister Al-Mutairi thanked everyone who helped organise the event, including the Public Authority for Sport, government bodies, the Kuwait Football Association, the French Professional Football League and the volunteers. He also congratulated Paris Saint-Germain on winning the title. Paris Saint-Germain won the French Super Cup by defeating Olympique de Marseille 4-1 on penalties after the match ended 2-2 in regulation time, allowing the French and European champions to continue their notable run of results for a second consecutive season.
